Born 18 March 1914, was educated at Mayo College, Ajmer, and Cambridge, England. He obtained his Doctorate in Law from the same university and joined the Indian Civil Service . Appointed a Judge, he later became the Chief Justice of the International Court of Justice at The Hague .

May 19, 2022 · A view of the main building of Mayo College—it was designed by Major Charles Mant and Swinton Jacob, leading architects of the Indo-Saracenic style, working two decades apart. Work began on Mant’s design in 1877, and was completed in 1885.
