The Hawa Mahal is a palace in the city of Jaipur, Rajasthan, India. Built from red and pink sandstone, it is on the edge of the City Palace, Jaipur, and extends to the Zenana, or women's chambers.
Hawa Mahal is a five-storey palace of pink and red sandstone built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh of Jaipur. It was designed to let the royal women watch the street events and festivals through its 953 jharokhas or windows.
