Think about it, a city with such an incredible amount of history, and the thing you see the most on the horizon are those things. Jindra Čejka, Zaz965, Darryl and 4 others.

Mar 31, 2013 · Berlin seems to be an up and coming city, I know it is a centre for popular modern culture, music, art etc, and now it's become europe's second biggest technology start up centre after London, all these factors combined will surely increase demand for high rise office and residential towers, good times for Berlin, try and break the Anglo and American monopoly on popular modern culture
Sep 14, 2021 · The tower was topic of a meeting of the Berlin construction committee on monday. The overall planning should be completed and the building application is now beeing prepared and should be granted within this year. Covivio is planning to start the construction later this year and to finish in 2023.
Aug 2, 2018 · Here a picture from the construction in 1877: same location today. In 1910, the colonnades seen here were closed by walls to be used by stonemasons for maintenance of statues. This shortage of space has now been fixed and the colonnades open for traffic: This part was used as interior space.

May 24, 2024 · When I was last in Berlin (2013), Unter Den Linden was a mess, as the U 5 tunnel was under construction. There were large pipes suspended above the sidewalks by stanchions made of the same pipe. The Bebelplatz was fenced off as a parking garage was being constructed and the Opera House, Zeughaus, State Library, and Neues and James Simon Museums were getting renovated or built.

May 25, 2020 · Since the Cold War, West Berlin and to a lesser degree East Berlin too followed a policy of building broad avenues and city highways, demolishing housing for it. It had been the declared policy of the previous Social Democrat-Leftist-Green coalition to downsize some of these main avenues, including dedicating one broad lane to cyclists (which is a Berlin law based on a referendum initiative).
