Download the latest version of the Office Deployment Tool from the Microsoft Download Center. Double-click the officedeploymenttool executable file to extract the setup.exe file and the sample configuration.xml files. The setup.exe file is the Office Deployment Tool. Use a text editor, such as Notepad, to create a file named configuration.xml.
