With more than 800 bright and curious students, Keble is one of the biggest colleges at the University of Oxford. We’ve been around since 1870, and have been challenging the way things are done at Oxford since the beginning.
Keble College ( / ˈkiːbəl /) [3] is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford [4] in England. Its main buildings are on Parks Road, opposite the University Museum and the University Parks. The college is bordered to the north by Keble Road, to the south by Museum Road, and to the west by Blackhall Road .
Keble College was originally established to extend access to Oxford University, and it remains true to that founding vision. We have students from all backgrounds and every corner of the globe.
Keble College has come a long way since its opening in 1870. The first Oxford College of the modern era, it was founded in memory of John Keble (1792-1866), well known for his best-selling Christian verse and a key member of the so-called ‘Oxford’ movement.

Keble College is situated on the northern edge of Oxford city centre, just off Banbury Road and the northern end of St Giles. It is opposite the University science area and the University Parks. Our graduate quad, The H B Allen Centre, is a 5 minute walk north of the main site.
Keble College has an excellent library with well-equipped and comfortable reading rooms open 24 hours a day for most of the year. It supports graduate study on taught courses, has a generous budget and welcomes suggestions from its users.

The resulting buildings are amongst the most environmentally friendly college buildings in Oxford. Incredibly well insulated, they require no central heating. Instead, they use state-of-the-art ground source heat pump technology, incorporating pipes embedded in the 18 metre deep foundation piles.
