The SNDT Women's University is established in 1916 by Bharatratna Maharshi Dr. Dhondo Keshav Karve and generously supported by Sir Vitthaldas Thackersey. It is the first of its kind in India, imparting education exclusively to women, to suit their aspirations in the fast changing world.
