The University of Cochin was re‐constituted as Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in February 1986, redefining its objectives as "promoting Graduate and Post‐Graduate studies and Advanced Research in Applied Sciences, Technology, Industry, Commerce, Management and Social Sciences."
Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is the country's premier Science & Technology University, which is re-accredited with NAAC ‘A+’ Grade. CUSAT was formerly known as Cochin University and was established in the year 1971. The university holds the approval from UGC & AICTE.

The CUSAT Kochi provides 14 undergraduate programmes, 53 postgraduate programmes, and 9 M.Phil and Ph.D programmes related to different subjects. Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of A+.
May 31, 2016 · The School of Engineering (SOE) had a humble beginning in 1978 with a few post graduate and Ph.D. programs in Engineering. Now, with over 3000 students, it has assumed a formidable size as the largest academic unit of the Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT), a State Govt. University accredited by NAAC with A+ Grade in October 2022.
Jun 7, 2024 · CUSAT Admission 2024 is open and is entirely based on the entrance exam scores. The university accepts Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test (CUSAT CAT) for admission to its UG & PG programs. National-level examinations such as KMAT/ CMAT / CAT/ GATE etc. are also accepted at CUSAT.
