Founded as an independent alternative high school in 1972, City-As-School’s primary objective is to offer students a multitude of Learning Experiences that encompass the depth and breadth of New York City’s businesses or resources.
City-As-School (CAS) is a public high school located at 16 Clarkson Street between Hudson Street and Seventh Avenue South in the West Village of Manhattan, New York City which was established in 1972.
One Student At A Time. As one of the largest, oldest, and most well-known transfer schools in the city, City-As-School has a large number of applicants each year.
Just like any high school, City-As offers a range of classes across traditional academic subject areas. Students take math courses like such as algebra or pre-calculus, English classes such as Shakespeare or the modern novel, and history classes such as global affairs or American politics and electives such as knitting or digital photography.
