Benedict Leonard Calvert, 4th Baron Baltimore (21 March 1679 – 16 April 1715) was an English peer and politician. He was the second son of Charles Calvert, 3rd Baron Baltimore (1637–1715) by Jane Lowe, and became his father's heir upon the death of his elder brother Cecil in 1681.
Jan 1, 2023 · In February 1715 Benedict became the 4th Baron Baltimore upon the death of his father, and he immediately petitioned King George I for the restoration of Maryland to his control. However, before the King could rule on the petition, Baltimore died aged 36, outliving his father by just two months.

Benedict Leonard Calvert (1679-1715), 4th Baron of Baltimore, was an English nobleman. At the age of five, he became 10th Proprietary Governor of Maryland and the administrative duties fell to Henry Darnall (1645-1711).
The Calverts, barons Baltimore, a Roman Catholic family, were founders and hereditary proprietors of Maryland, where they resided in St. Mary’s county. The Member himself was made governor of Maryland at the age of five, a customary appointment for the eldest son of the proprietor.
Benedict Leonard Calvert (September 20, 1700 – June 1, 1732) was the 15th Proprietary Governor of Maryland from 1727 through 1731, appointed by his older brother, Charles Calvert, 5th Baron Baltimore (1699–1751). He was named after his father, Benedict Calvert, 4th Baron Baltimore (1679–1715).

The first of the Lords Baltimore to be born in Maryland, Benedict Leonard Calvert was married in 1698/9 to Lady Charlotte Lee whom he divorced in 1705. In 1713, he converted to Anglicanism.
