Nawab Muhammad Amir Khan (1769–1834) was a military general in the service of Yashwantrao Holkar of the Maratha Empire and later became the first ruler of the princely state of Tonk (in present day Rajasthan, India).

Nawab Muhammad Amir Khan (1769–1834) was a military general in the service of Yashwantrao Holkar of the Maratha Empire and later became the first ruler of the princely state of Tonk. Amir Khan was a Hindustani Pathan and a North Indian Muslim.
Muhammad Amir Khan received the pargana of Tonk from Jaswant Singh Holkar in the late 1790s. However, it was in November 1817 that the East India Company under a treaty recognized Amir Khan as the Nawab of the State of Tonk. The 1857 agitation also gained momentum in Tonk.
It is important to mention here that the first founder ruler of Tonk was Nawab Mohd. Amir Khan who conquered it from Balwant Rao Holkar in 1806. Later, the British Government gained it from Amir Khan.
