Charles Michel ( French: [ʃaʁl mi'ʃɛl]; born 21 December 1975) is a Belgian politician serving as the president of the European Council since 2019. He previously served as the prime minister of Belgium between 2014 and 2019.
For Charles Michel, law has always been about people and protecting their rights and freedoms. Passionate about politics from a young age, Charles Michel decided to run in the elections soon after university. He was elected as a member of the federal parliament in 1999.
