Bimal Jalan (born 17 August 1941) [citation needed] is a former Governor of Reserve Bank of India and was a nominated member of the Upper House of India's Parliament, the Rajya Sabha during 2003–2009.
Dr. Jalan has served as the Executive Director representing India on the Boards of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank. At the time of his appointment as the Governor of the Reserve Bank, Dr. Jalan was the Member-Secretary, Planning Commission in New Delhi.
