Hope Sandoval (born June 24, 1966) is an American singer-songwriter of Mexican descent, known as the lead singer of Mazzy Star and Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions.
__ Hope Sandoval was born June 24, 1966 and grew up in east L.A. with her Mexican-American family. She started her career with her friend Sylvia Gomez in a folk duo called Going Home in 1986. Hope would later form Mazzy Star with David Roback and release 3 albums in the 1990s.

bio. Hope Sandoval was born June 24, 1966 and grew up in east L.A. with her Mexican-American family. She started her career together with her friend Sylvia Gomez in a band called "Going Home", a folk duo formed in 1986. Hope had admired Kendra Smith as a teen-age Dream Syndicate fan.
Founding member David Roback's friend Hope Sandoval became the group's vocalist when Kendra Smith left Opal. The band's current lineup consists of Sandoval (lead vocals, guitars, percussion), Colm Ó Cíosóig (guitars, bass, keyboards, drums), Suki Ewers (keyboards), and Josh Yenne (pedal steel guitars, guitars, drums).

Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions are an independent alternative / dream pop band composed of Hope Sandoval from the band Mazzy Star and Colm Ó Cíosóig of My Bloody Valentine. Their first studio album, Bavarian Fruit Bread, was released on 23 October 2001.
