Recently JTBC reported about EXO's D.O. leaving SM Entertainment and joining a new agency formed by his longtime manager. Confirming the same, SM Entertainment issued a statement.
In early 2011, SM Entertainment 's founder Lee Soo-man announced the company's plan to debut a new boy group, of which would be divided into two units that would promote simultaneously in South Korea and China by performing in both Korean and Mandarin. At the time, the two units were simply known as "M1" and "M2".
