George Murphy forgives his wife after her affair with Arnelo (John Hodiak). The film pretty much papers over all the drama that could have generated, but still manages to be half-way decent. Of course Arnelo has to be the bad guy, rather than letting the murder be a more believable crime of passion. This way everything works out in the end.
