May 20, 2008 · Synopsis. Set in 1978, a British couple travel to a friend's secluded vacation home in the northern Spanish woods where they happen upon a young girl with horribly deformed hands. The couple is repeatedly thwarted in their attempts to get her help by a group of locals and by the nature of the woods themselves.
Ledoyen and Considine play a young married couple at the end of the 1970s, who come to visit a friend (Oldman) who now lives in the Basque region because he has married a woman from there (Sánchez-Gijón).
