The Scent of Blood (Italian: L'odore del sangue, also known as The Smell of Blood) is a 2004 Italian thriller-drama film written and directed by Mario Martone. It was screened at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival in the Director's Fortnight section. It is based on a novel by Goffredo Parise.
Carlo and Silvia are married since twenty years. He lives with a young lover, while Silvia lives in their original flat. Their ‘regular’ menage changes when also Silvia starts meeting others men, and in particular a young and violent neo-fascist.
