The Maus is a deeply unsettling, personal narrative of a Bosnian Muslim woman and her German boyfriend who come across a couple of Bosnian Serbs in the woods. The woman is injured and the boyfriend guides her into a surreal, living hell. The metaphor isn't terribly difficult to grasp.
Jul 28, 2018 · Selma, a Bosnian Muslim, and Alex, a German, are on a trip to her ancestral village close to Srebrenica in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a country formed in the aftermath of the bloody breakup of communist Yugoslavia. When their car breaks down in the middle of a forest strewn with hidden landmines from the war, Selma starts fearing the worst.
The Maus is a horror film about a couple in love who encounter a mysterious force in the Bosnian forest. The film explores the themes of war, identity and superstition through the perspective of a muslim survivor and a young european boyfriend.
