- Groundhog Day (1993) It’s an arguable question that, why ‘Groundhog Day’ lies at the No. 1 spot on this list? One of the very first movies based on this concept, ‘Groundhog Day’ revolves around Phil Conners (Bill Murray), an arrogant weather reporter, who is forced to relive the same day over an over, trapping him in a place he hates for the entirety.
