  5. The Harvard University Science Center was built in 1972 and opened in 1973 after a design by Josep Lluís Sert (then dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Design). Administrators and educators at Harvard had been interested in building an undergraduate science center since before World War II.

  6. The Science Center is open Monday through Sunday from 6am to 11:30pm. Harvard IDs are required to access to the building after hours. After 5:00pm on weekdays and during weekends, departmental access is limited to Harvard ID holders and others with proper authorization.
