Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is an autonomous institution that was established in 1989 by the Department of Science and Technology, GoI to commemorate the birth centenary year of Jawaharlal Nehru. Prof. C. N. R. Rao, FRS, was the founding President.
This is a flagship programme of the JNCASR, introduced in 1991. Science and engineering students at the bachelors and masters level are placed at institutes of repute all over the country, for two months training in the areas of their interest in the Life Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Engineering.
Nov 28, 2023 · Bengaluru's Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is setting up India's first plant to convert CO2 into methanol at a power plant in Telangana. The plant, commissioned by the Central Mine Planning & Design Institute Limited (CMPDI) with a recommendation from Coal India Limited, is expected to be completed in 2024.
