František Vláčil (19 February 1924 – 27 January 1999) [1] was a Czech film director, painter, and graphic artist. From 1945 to 1950, he studied aesthetics and art history at Masaryk University in Brno. Later he worked in various groups and ateliers (e.g. on animated films), but his main area became played film.
František Vláčil ( 19. února 1924 Český Těšín – 27. ledna 1999 Praha) byl český filmový režisér a scenárista. Jeho filmy Marketa Lazarová a Údolí včel jsou dnes filmovými odborníky považovány za vrcholná díla české kinematografie. [1] Na MFF Karlovy Vary byl oceněn za přínos světové kinematografii.
