Innis College was the first college at the University of Toronto to have parity between students and faculty on its governing council. The main governing body of Innis College is the Innis College Council and operates under the Governing Council of the University of Toronto.
Innis is just about the smallest of the seven colleges — and almost the youngest too — affiliated with the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Arts & Science. Our size, about 2,000 students, helps to define our atmosphere: inclusive, friendly, active, tight-knit, and diverse.

Founded in 1964, Innis College provides a small-scale home to 2,200 undergraduate students within the Faculty of Arts & Science at the University of Toronto.
The Writing & Rhetoric Program (W&R) at Innis College, University of Toronto, will give you an invaluable education in critical thinking and persuasive writing. A minor in W&R provides a foundation – and a complement – to studying any discipline in the arts and sciences.
