Vilho "Ville" Eino Ritola (18 January 1896 – 24 April 1982) was a Finnish long-distance runner. Known as one of the " Flying Finns ", he won five Olympic gold medals and three Olympic silver medals in the 1920s.

Finnish duels. At the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, Ritola put on an incredible performance, winning four gold medals and two silver medals. In his first race, the 10,000m, he won by half a lap and obliterated his own world record by more than 12 seconds. Three days later, he won the steeplechase by 75 metres.

Ville Ritola was an outstanding distance runner who rivaled his legendary countryman, Paavo Nurmi. At the 1924 Olympic Games, Ritola won the steeplechase in his first attempt at the race and improved his own 10,000 metre world record to win that event.
