Makoto Imaoka was a five-time All-Star and three-time Best Nine pick for the Hanshin Tigers. As a college freshman, Imaoka led his league in homers and RBI. He played for the Japanese national team in the 1993 Intercontinental Cup, he hit .300/.300/.500 as the backup shortstop to Akihiro Togo for the Bronze Medal winners.
