Viktor Lvovich Korchnoi (Russian: Виктор Львович Корчной, IPA: [vʲiktər lʲvovʲɪtɕ kɐrtɕˈnoj]; 23 March 1931 – 6 June 2016) was a Soviet (before 1976) and Swiss (after 1980) chess grandmaster (GM) and chess writer.
GM Viktor Korchnoi (1931-2016) was a Soviet and later Swiss grandmaster who achieved nearly every possible chess success in a roughly 70-year career (approximately from 1945 to 2015) other than a world championship.
