The disc covers Cooke's entire career, from his early 1950s beginnings with the Soul Stirrers to the posthumous 1964 single "Shake".

PORTRAIT OF A LEGEND shares many of the same songs, although it's missing "That's Heaven To Me" and "Soothe Me".
