Cargolux - The Global Cargo Carrier of Choice. Cargolux Italia S.p.A. is an Italian all-cargo airline founded in December 2008 as a subsidiary between Italian interests and Cargolux Airlines International S.A. with the aim to serve the Italian market, one of the most important in Europe, both in terms of imported and exported goods.
Cargolux takes off. After months of discussions, negotiations between the 3 parties broke through and Cargolux was founded on March 4th, 1970. With one aircraft leased from Saloft, a Canadair CL-44 D42, registered TF-LLJ, and a handful of enthusiastic employees, the airline was set up in an office in downtown Luxembourg, on the first floor of a building on Avenue de la Liberté.
