Edna Purviance. Olga[citation needed] Edna Purviance ( / pɜːrˈvaɪ.ns /; [1] October 21, 1895 – January 13, 1958) was an American actress of the silent film era. She was the leading lady in many of Charlie Chaplin 's early films and in a span of eight years, she appeared in over 30 films with him.
Edna Purviance was a silent film actress who starred in over 20 Chaplin films from 1915 to 1921. She retired in 1926 but remained on Chaplin's payroll until her death in 1958.
