Irene Ryan (born Irene Noblitt, Noblett, or Noblette; October 17, 1902 – April 26, 1973) was an American actress and comedian who found success in vaudeville, radio, film, television, and Broadway.
Irene Ryan was a vaudeville, radio and movie actress who became famous as Granny on The Beverly Hillbillies. She also starred in Broadway musicals, performed with Bob Hope and died of a brain tumor in 1973.
