Oleg Vitalyevich Makarov (Russian: Оле́г Вита́льевич Мака́ров; born October 22, 1962, in Leningrad) is a Russian former pair skater who represented the Soviet Union.

Biography. Larisa Seleznyova’s and Oleg Makarov’s first big success as pairs skaters at the international level were victories at the 1980 and 1981 World Junior Championships. At their first major senior championships, the 1984 Olympics, Seleznyova and Makarov won the bronze medal.

May 29, 2003 · May 29, 2003 — Oleg Makarov, 70, a veteran cosmonaut selected for the first Soviet lunar missions and who made four launches and three spaceflights, died today (May 29). Makarov's first flight was Soyuz 12 in September 1973, the first Soviet manned mission after the loss of Soyuz 11.
