Trixie was born as Martha Firschke in a circus family in Budapest, Hungary, in 1920. Her supposed destiny was to follow her mother's tradition as a perch pole balancer. But, at 11 years old, when she was first sent up the pole she was terrified and begged not to go back.

Aug 5, 2013 · Trixie was a very quick learner and soon learned to juggle 7 plates, 5 large balls, and perhaps most impressively, six plates while bouncing a ball on her head. She could also bounce two balls on her head and was extremely skills with a ball and mouth stick.
