David Nicholas Yip (Chinese: 葉西園; pinyin: Yè Xīyuán; born 4 June 1951) is a British actor and playwright. He gained prominence through his role in the BBC series The Chinese Detective (1981–1982) as the first East Asian lead on British television.
David Yip is a British-born actor and director who has appeared in films such as A View to a Kill, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, and Entrapment. He has also voiced characters in video games such as Ni no Kuni II and The Lego Ninjago Movie.
