Goodbye, Mr. Chips is a novella about the life of a school teacher, Mr. Chipping, written by English writer James Hilton and first published by Hodder & Stoughton in October 1934. It has been adapted into two feature films and two television presentations.
Sir John Mills made one of his rare stage appearance to play the school master, Mr.Chips for this production. This recording is part of a series of Original Cast recordings that JAY made in collaboration with the Chichester Festival Theatre, the others being Scrooge, Pickwick, Underneath The Arches, Valmouth and Divorce Me, Darling!
Starring: Sir John Mills. Colette Gleeson. Nigel Stock. Stage musical adaptation of the original film musical starring Peter O'Toole and Petula Clark. The stage production premiered at the Chichester Festival Theatre before commencing on a tour of the United Kingdom.
