Director/Producer/Writer. 5 November 1935 to 11 March 2006. Canadian-born Shonteff moved to England after his western debut The Hired Gun (1961). He had to make cuts to his ventriloquist horror Devil Doll (1964) after British censors considered it too distressing for even an X certificate.
