Since its origins in 1968, Luis Alegre’s philosophy has been to produce wines of the highest quality. To do so, we combine evolution and tradition, optimising and even reinventing what already exists, always respecting the foundations of our wine-making heritage.
The Luis Alegre Winery was set up in 1968 in Laguardia (Rioja Alavesa), one of the most exclusive wine-making areas of Spain. Over time, we have earned important recognition, boasting 52 hectares of vineyards in an extraordinary location and a collection of great wines.
Luis Alegre. Sheltered from the Sierra de Cantabria mountains, our vineyards have limestone soil, with sandy insertions and saline and iron influences, bestowing high quality on our wines.
All of our grapes are hand selected. Under the wing of the Sierra de Cantabria Mountains, in Rioja Alavesa, our vineyards are formed by limestone soils with sandy inserts, and saline and ferric influences so it gives our wines a high quality. Website: www.luisalegre.com.
Bodegas Luis Alegre is situated in the heart of the Alavesa region of Rioja near the town of Laguardia, the regional capital. It was founded by Don Luis Alegre in 1968 - in the late '90s he was joined by a group of Spanish wine enthusiasts dedicated to quality and to sustainable winemaking.
