William Morgan (born 1774 – disappeared c. 1826) was a resident of Batavia, New York, whose disappearance and presumed murder in 1826 ignited a powerful movement against the Freemasons, a fraternal society that had become influential in the United States.

William Morgan was born on January 23, 1870 in Lockport, NY. He was recruited by James Naismith to play football at the YMCA Training School (now Springfield College). After he graduated he eventually became the physical education director at the Holyoke YMCA.

In 1578 William Morgan was given the official command to proceed with the translation. The work was finished when Y Beibl Cyssegr-lan was published in London in 1588, the first Welsh language translation of the whole Bible.

This biography justifies that appellation and much, much more. I didn’t know when I moved to Bridgend, Wales that I was walking in the footsteps of actuarial greatness.
