May 24, 2024 · Trevor Horn “The Days of Pearly Spencer” is a song originally written and composed by David McWilliams, but it gained significant recognition and popularity when Marc Almond covered it in 1991 for his album “Tenement Symphony.”
Almond then signed to WEA and released a new solo album, Tenement Symphony. Produced partly by Trevor Horn , the album yielded three Top 40 hits including renditions of the Jacques Brel classic "Jacky" (which made the UK Top 20), and "The Days of Pearly Spencer" which returned Almond to the UK Top 5 in 1992.
