May 26, 2018 · Les Savage Jr. - Western author. Recently found this biography of one of my favorite western authors. The biography is by Jon Tuska, and has a photo I've never seen before.
Les Savage Jr. (1922–1958) was a writer from age seventeen and a contributor to pulp magazines for a number of years. In addition he penned over twenty books. A few of his better known titles are Treasure of the Brasada, Silver Street Women, and The Royal City.

Les Savage, Jr., left behind him ninety-odd magazine stories and twenty-four published novels as well as his last novel in manuscript. Much as Stephen Crane before him, as he wrote the shadow of his imminent death grew longer and longer across his young life, and he knew that, if he was going to do it at all, he would have to do it quickly.
