Written and directed by Saleh, Boy from Heaven is his second feature set in Egypt after The Nile Hilton Incident, which won Sundance’s Grand Jury Prize: World Cinema Dramatic in 2017 and turned into a B.O. and critical success, notably in France where it sold over 400,000 tickets.
Director, screenwriter and producer Tarik Saleh got his start in the mid 1980s as one of Sweden’s most acclaimed graffiti artists. His mural Fascinate from 1989 is the first graffiti mural to be protected by the Swedish state as a cultural heritage, and is one of the world’s oldest existing graffiti paintings.
