Joel Silberg (Hebrew: יואל זילברג; March 30, 1927 – February 18, 2013) was a film, television and stage director and screenwriter in Israel and the United States. He made films in Israel including so-called Bourekas films. He then directed films in the U.S. during the 1980s, including Breakin' and Lambada.
Joel Silberg was born on 30 March 1927 in Tel Aviv, Mandatory Palestine. He was a director and writer, known for Hershele (1977), Lambada (1990) and The Simhon Family (1964). He died on 18 February 2013 in Tel Aviv, Israel.
