PETER GOLUB began playing the piano when he was six. Alongside his interest in music, in high school he developed a passion for the theatre, forming a troupe with a group of classmates and directing and acting in plays by Pinter, Ionesco and Beckett.

Golub is the current director of the Sundance Film Music Program and teaches film music and composition at UCLA's Herb Alpert School of Music. He is a member of the Acadmey of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Peter Golub is a Moscow–born poet and translator. He has published original work and translations in various journals, including ARC Poetry, Cimarron, and World Literature Today. In 2008 he edited an anthology of contemporary Russian poetry, which was published by Jacket Magazine.
Peter Golub (composer for The Idiots Karmamazov) is the composer of numerous works for the theater, film, ballet, and concert hall. Most recently, he composed music for Demonology and The Joy of Going Somewhere Definite at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles.
