American screenwriter Garnett Weston's Hollywood career began with The Viking (1931). Weston went on to work with the independent Halperin Brothers on such economical melodramas as White Zombie (1932) and Supernatural (1933).
Born in Toronto in 1890, Weston worked as a police and sports editor for the Vancouver Sun prior to moving to Los Angeles to write for the film industry in 1923. Weston worked as a screenwriter in Hollywood, mostly for Paramount Pictures, for 20 years during which time he authored several plays and novels.
Garnett Weston wrote a variety of screenplays throughout the duration of his career. Weston began his writing career for film with such titles as "Blackmail" (1929), "The Viking" (1931) and the Bela Lugosi horror film "White Zombie" (1932).
