"Free Ride" is a drama written and directed by Shana Betz based on her life during the 1970s when her mom (Anna Paquin), struggling to raise two daughters on her own, got seduced into transporting drugs. Shana (Ava Acres) is the younger daughter and was seven in the time frame of the film.
Last Friday, two Film Independent Fellows—writer/director Shana Betz and producer Susan Dynner—reached that destination. They premiered their film Free Ride in New York and Los Angeles.
