From his infancy in London to his upbringing in Brooklyn, NY and the controversy and adulation unleashed by Living Colour, it all leads into "Other True Self". Each track highlights one side or another of Vernon Reid, including his African lineage in "Prof. Bebey", while tracks such as "Flatbush And Church Revisited" and the Middle Eastern energies of "Mind Of My Mind", provide the diversity and the cultural blend.
