Michael John Hugg (born 11 August 1940) is a British musician who was a founding member of the 1960s group Manfred Mann. [1]
Mike Hugg (formerly Drums & Vibes, now Keyboards) In 1962 Mike hired Manfred to play with him in a jazz combo for a summer season at Butlins Holiday Camp. Returning to London they quickly formed the Mann-Hugg Quartet, with Mike on vibraphone and Manfred on piano.

The Mann–Hugg Blues Brothers were formed in London [7] by keyboard player Manfred Mann and drummer/ vibes /piano player Mike Hugg, [4] who formed a house band in Clacton-on-Sea that also featured Graham Bond. [8]
In the course of his playing at the Butlins resort in Clacton during 1962, Mann met percussionist Mike Hugg, and the two soon began playing together in a band that included Graham Bond. Hugg and Mann eventually formed their own band, the Mann Hugg Blues Brothers, which grew into a septet, including two saxmen and a trumpet player.
