The script by Fred Myton clearly borrows heavily from Bram Stoker's novel Dracula as well as Universal Pictures' wildly popular 1931 adaptation starring Bela Lugosi. The interesting twist added to the premise is the notion of having the vampire and the vampire-hunter linked by birth as twins.
