2016: Produce 101
Sihyeon first came into the public eye as a contestant on season 1 of Produce 101. She auditioned as an independent trainee, and ended up placing 40 on episode 8, when she was eliminated. Shortly after the show ended, she signed a contract with Chinese Entertainment agency, Yuehuain order to train as a trainee under their label.
2018: Produce 48
After two years of training, she participated on Produce 48, along with fellow Yuehua trainees Yiren and future member of IZ*ONE, Choi Yena. She placed 27 and was eliminated on episode 11.
2019: ΣVΣRGLOW Debut
Several months later, Yuehua announced their new girl group EVERGLOW, and revealed Sihyeon to be the first member of the group just a day later. She debuted with EVERGLOW on March 18, 2019 with their debut single album "Arrival of Everglow" and its title track "Bon Bon Chocolat".
Health
On December 1, 2020, Yue Hua Entertainment shared that Sihyeon and Yiren had been diagnosed with COVID-19. As a result, all remaining EVERGLOW members and their staff would go on voluntary self-isolation for two weeks. The group had recently recorded an episode of Yoo Hee Yeol's Sketchbookwith a few other artists, but they all tested negative.
