Alexander Vasilyevich Fomin (Russian: Александр Васильевич Фомин, born May 25, 1959) is a Russian Deputy Minister of Defence.
Fomin continued to work at the plant until he was arrested on May 15, 1986. He was charged with gross violation of safety regulations and criminal negligence, along with Bryukhanov and Dyatlov. He suffered from severe psychological stress and attempted suicide twice before and during his trial.
