Paul Young is an Irish animator, illustrator, cartoonist, producer, and director. He is the CEO of Cartoon Saloon, a four-times Academy Award nominated and BAFTA nominated Irish animation studio. He co-founded the studio in 1999 with Tomm Moore and Nora Twomey. In 2015 he was a finalist in the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Paul is a co-founder of Cartoon Saloon, an IFTA winner and Oscar ®, Emmy and Bafta nominee. He Produced animated features, My Father's Dragon, WolfWalkers, The Secret of Kells, Song of the Sea & The Breadwinner as well as a number of award-winning TV series including Puffin Rock, Dorg Van Dango & Viking Skool.

THE EARLY YEARS. Paul Antony Young was born January 17th 1956. He was the middle child of three, has an elder brother Mark and a younger sister Joanne. His interest in music dates back to when he was very young, when he learnt to play the piano and then the guitar.

Paul Young is an English film director, screenwriter and producer. After leaving school at the age of fourteen, he began writing scripts and short stories and eventually managed to enroll in a course in Film Production whilst working as a runner, and later in various other departments.
